Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of Methsith Arana International Monastic Attitude Development Center
Under the serene light of the Derana Media Network, the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone for the Methsith Arana International Monastic Attitude Development Center in Ruwanwella, Kannattota, together with the unveiling of the newly built Buddha statue, was held on March 1st with great reverence.
The event was graced by the presence of the Most Venerable Wendaruwe Upali Thero, Deputy Chief Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter, along with the distinguished Maha Sangha. Honored guests included Mr. Madhawa Madawala, Executive Director of Derana Media Network, among many other dignitaries.
A Noble Vision for the Future
With the noble aim of nurturing a virtuous generation of monks as well as a virtuous generation of children for the protection of the Buddha Sasana and our motherland, the Methsith Arana Monastic Attitude Development Center was inaugurated on the same day. This center is being constructed under the guidance of Shastrapati Panditha Ven. Warakapola Nandarathana Thero, with the support of the Methsith Paramitha Foundation in Ruwanwella and the dedicated labor contribution of the Sri Lanka Navy.
Empowering Student Monks
On this occasion, student monks who participated in the inaugural training sessions were offered books and school supplies with the patronage of Manusath Derana, further strengthening their path of learning and spiritual development. This event marks a significant step in fostering compassion, discipline, and wisdom among future generations, ensuring the preservation of the Buddha Sasana and the wellbeing of our nation.
