Manusath Derana- 84th Medical Clinic at Weerawila Maha Vidyalaya

84th Medical Clinic
The 84th Manusath Derana Medical Clinic was successfully held at Weerawila Maha Vidyalaya, bringing vital healthcare services closer to the community.

A comprehensive range of examinations were carried out, including kidney, blood sugar, cholesterol, BMI assessments, eye examinations with the provision of spectacles, hearing assessments, physiotherapy services, and the donation of a hearing aid to a student in need.

Beyond medical care, the program extended its compassion to uplift schools and families:
• Three schools received sports goods to encourage healthy, active lifestyles.
• Weerawila Maha Vidyalaya was gifted a water filter, ensuring access to clean drinking water.
• Expectant mothers were provided with essential equipment and baby care items, supporting them at a crucial stage of life.

This clinic was made possible through the main sponsorship of Ragama Leesons Hospital, whose generous support continues to strengthen Manusath Derana’s humanitarian mission.

The medical camp was jointly supported by IIHS, Hari Husmak–Cipla, Omron, George Stuart Health, Vision Care Hearing Solutions, Sands Active, Aqua Life, and the Weerawila United Youth Society, with the dedicated support of the Lunugamwehera Medical Health Office.

In addition, Manusath Derana is marking World Kidney Day throughout this month, beginning 12th March, with a landmark initiative: a series of medical camps across hypertension clinics, and diabetic clinics of the government hospitals. The campaign will test the kidneys of 300,000 people for the early identification of CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) — a life-saving effort to protect communities from this silent threat.
